Under the patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, the Iraq Investment Forum will be held at the Al-Rasheed Hotel in Baghdad on Saturday and Sunday, November 2nd and 3rd, 2024.
In light of this, His Excellency the Prime Minister announced that the forum is organized by the Iraqi private sector, in coordination with the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Investment Commission, the Iraqi Economic Council, and in cooperation with the “Al-Iktissad Wal Aamal” group.
This forum arrives at a significant moment in Iraq’s economic renaissance, as the nation is undergoing a significant economic transformation, as it has entered a new phase of development and growthو driven by structural reforms and increased openness to Arab and global markets. Iraq’s strategic location at the heart of global trade routes, coupled with its human wealth and abundant oil and gas resources, represents a promising investment environment, opening up vast opportunities for local, Arab, and international investors and companies to establish new commercial and investment projects and partnerships. It is noteworthy that that Iraq has achieved a qualitative leap in foreign direct investment, ranking fourth globally among ten countries, according to the latest report issued by “FDI Intelligence.”
This forum stands as a paramount platform for highlighting the most important investment opportunities in a wide range of economic sectors presented by the National Investment Commission, relevant ministries, local investment authorities, and private sector partners.
Over two days, the forum’s agenda includes specialized dialogue sessions on economic, financial and monetary policies, ongoing reforms, facilitating investment procedures, and sectoral opportunities in energy, industry, financial and banking services, infrastructure, transportation, logistics services, the digital economy, and the possibilities of public-private partnership opportunities.
